General and Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery Unit - S.C. Chirurgia generale ed epatobiliopancreatica

The General and Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery Unit operates within the scope of the Department of Surgery and Digestive Diseases, doing clinical work for the most part on digestive pathologies, in close collaboration with the Gastroenterology Unit.
The main fields of interest for the clinical work are diseases of the hepato-biliary-pancreatic area, both neoplastic and non-neoplastic: in this sphere, there is close interaction with the Radio-Diagnostic Unit and the Radiological Intervention Unit. Advanced treatment of neoplastic pathologies has been developed in this department such as radio-frequency and microwave ablation.
Areas of interest are also benign or malignant pathologies of the upper and lower digestive tract, often treated in a multidisciplinary manner using cutting edge technologies (minimally invasive surgery, etc.), thyroid pathology (within the scope of the Thyroid Centre), pathological obesity (within the scope of the Multidisciplinary Obesity Centre), and plastic surgery.
