Cardiology Unit - S.C. Cardiologia e U.T.I.C.
The clinical activity of the Cardiology Unit mainly concerns the treatment of ischemic cardiopathy which is the most frequent cause of cardiac death in industrialised countries. Other specialist activities in the department include the valuation and treatment of patients with life-threatening arrhythmia. Clinical and instrumental outpatient activities are mainly focused on the internal cardiological assistance at the Galliera Hospital. A specialised clinic is reserved for patients affected by hypertrophic cardiomiopatia, a familiar genetic disease. The department also performs clinical research activities.
